beBettor and Casumo strike data and affordability partnership

Data and technology company beBettor has been enlisted by online casino Casumo as part of a new affordability partnership, enhancing the latter’s responsible gaming commitments.

As a result of the agreement Casumo will be able to integrate beBettor’s Affordability API into its platform and will leverage the beBettor HQ analytics tool, enabling the operator to gauge the initial affordability of its UK customers and make automated decisions regarding personal interactions with gamers.

In addition, the utilisation of beBettor HQ will allow Casumo to carry out in-depth affordability reporting and will benefit from enhanced insights into the affordability of its customer base.

Furthermore, the firm will be provided with additional affordability data points, bolstering confidence in the initial assessment period, providing evidence of customer treatment and assisting with anti-money laundering (AML) operations.

“We are really excited to partner with beBettor,” remarked Mario Petraglia, Director of Compliance at Casumo. “The frictionless affordability checks beBettor provides enrich the data we already have on our customers.

“This means we can apply suitable protections for each individual checked and create personalised user experiences whilst protecting our customers from harm. As regulation evolves in the UK market we look forward to working closely with beBettor to refine and improve our responsible gaming frameworks.”

beBettor has developed its solution over the last three years with the specific objective of assisting gambling and betting firms with changing UK regulations concerning affordability.

Utilising a wide range of open data sources, tailored to individual requirements, beBettor’s personalised geo-affordability checking service is able to go ‘beyond postcode level data,’ receiving initial affordability assessments in real time in the form of banded discretionary income estimates.

Other notable betting firms to develop partnerships with the data gaming company include BetBull, which began to utilise beBettor’s affordability API services in January 2021.

Harry Cott, CEO at beBettor, said “The beBettor team and I are delighted to be partnering with Casumo on affordability. We are constantly improving our affordability technology platform and are delighted to be sharing this value with Casumo through our real-time Affordability API and brand new big data analytics tool; beBettor HQ.”

Affordability checks have become a major focus of the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), which has warned operators of their duty of care to vulnerable and isolated customers during the UK’s ongoing lockdown.
