Nonprofit social responsibility group Conscious Gaming has received a $200,000 donation from geolocation and compliance technology producer GeoComply.

Conscious Gaming was established by GeoComply with the objectives of creating a nationwide standardised baseline to share self-exclusion data and initiatives, in addition to uniting industry stakeholders’ responsible gaming needs.

The donation will be used to fund development of Conscious Gaming’s national self exclusion tool PlayPause, which has already been adopted by Entain, BetMGM and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Anna Sainsbury, GeoComply Chairman and Co-Founder, commented: “We have been very fortunate at GeoComply to have a front seat to the growth of the iGaming industry across the United States over the past decade.”

“We recognise with this growth comes challenges and GeoComply is proud to commit funding to Conscious Gaming to help the industry fulfill its responsibilities and obligations to responsible gaming and a safe environment for players.”

Conscious Gaming intends to use the PlayPause initiative to enhance social responsibility, enable customers to self-exclude across multiple states and allow operators to strengthen responsible gaming programmes using data-driven decision making and insights.

“The interest and momentum for PlayPause from operators and regulators since the launch has been tremendous,” said Seth Palansky, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility & Communications at Conscious Gaming.

“This donation from GeoComply will help us scale our efforts and help drive the adoption of PlayPause throughout the U.S. iGaming industry in 2021.”

GeoComply currently provides compliance and geolocation technology to numerous regulated online casino, poker, sports betting, lottery, ADW and DFS operators in 45 US states.
