Genuino Blockchain Technologies nets ACF Fiorentina deal

Boosting its exposure across the Italian market, Genuino Blockchain Technologies has penned a new partnership with ACF Fiorentina.

Under the new deal, Geniuno will authenticate the jerseys worn by Fiorentina players by inserting a ‘dedicated chip’ inside the fabric, which Genuino says ‘each one of them has been linked with a unique and unchangeable code to certify the authenticity’.

Giuseppe Barone, General Manager, ACF Fiorentina commented: “This partnership is an important step for a Club such as Fiorentina that wants to be ready for the challenges that will arise in the future.

“Genuino’s solution, offering a product and a service extremely innovative, will allow the tracing of the jersey’s life key moments, creating a digital copy of the physical jersey, to allow us to certify and authenticate the same, but also to help us fight counterfeiting and to involve our supporters through innovative products and activations, all over the world.”

Eleonora Mulas, CEO, Genuino added: “Building together with ACF Fiorentina such a prototype, unique in its kind, that uses and integrate extremely innovative technologies such as IoT, decentralized applications, smart sensors, artificial intelligence and smart contracts, and that at the same time will allow us to collect funds to help Meyer’s Hospital children, and at the same time to be on the frontline in the sport business innovation, is a great pride for our company. We can’t wait to present the project in front of Las Vegas CES guests.”

The jerseys will be authenticated following this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The jerseys that will then be certified during the remaining of the 19/20 season, will be made available by Fiorentina to its fans, supporters and collectors through a charity auction.
