ONPEX announces board changes including new company CEO

ONPEX, a provider of multi-currency IBAN accounts, has decided to appoint banking expert, Murray Sims, as the company’s CEO.

The Luxembourg-based firm described the move as a further step in strengthening ONPEX’ management team’ as it continues to develop and conduct its business strategy.

Sims has over 40 years of commercial experience in the banking industry and has worked in a range of countries globally including five GCC countries in the Middle East.

“I am looking forward to the new opportunity at ONPEX and working alongside a highly skilled team of experts to support and drive expansion efforts,” said Murray Sims.

“ONPEX is a fast-growing business with an exceptional market offering. I’m extremely excited to be part of the next growth cycle of the business.”

Following the launch of its Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform, ONPEX has secured its Payment Institution License granted by the CSSF in Luxembourg as well as transitional passporting rights ahead of Brexit.

In the past year ONPEX has secure significant partnerships with AltPay, Intergiro and Moorwand with Sims appointment is expected to to be ‘instrumental in scaling up the business.’

The recent accomplishments are said to have brought the company to an ‘inflexion point’ and Sims will now lead the company on its expansion.

Former CEO and founder, Christoph Tutsch, will remain on the board as chief innovation officer focusing on the company’s future as well as acting as its brand ambassador.
