Viva Wallet agrees operational deal with Bancontact Payconiq

Viva Wallet, European cloud-based digital payments provider based on Microsoft Azure, can now begin to offer acquiring services for payment Belgian-based solution provider Bancontact Payconiq.

Bancontact card holders will now be able to pay at over 100,000 merchant locations serviced by Viva Wallet across Europe.

“We are happy to enter into this partnership and provide Belgian consumers the opportunity to pay with their Bancontact cards either online or at the physical retail with a peace of mind and unparalleled convenience,” commented Viva Wallet’s Belgium Country Manager, Dimitris Papaioannou.

“Viva Wallet allows our merchants to accept 25 payment methods and we are excited to have Bancontact amongst them.”

Viva Wallet, founded in 2010, provides acquiring and issuing services to businesses of any size and is currently active in 17 European countries.

It is an entirely cloud-based licensed e-money institution for the provision of payment services in the EEA-31 countries and principal member of MasterCard and Visa for issuing and acquiring.

Customers in Europe will now be able to utilise their Bancontact debit card in any shop or retailer that uses a Viva Wallet card machine to accept payments.
